A new space for writing about aviation and connectivity

For the past couple of years, I have been quietly building and writing the Finnish side of this website. It has given me a place to collect my thoughts, find my own way of writing and, perhaps most importantly, practise putting unfinished ideas into words.

Now it feels like the right time to open an English-language side as well.

My work is closely connected to international accessibility, regional air connectivity and the future of aviation. Many of the conversations, developments and decisions shaping these fields naturally take place in an international context. Writing only in Finnish has therefore begun to feel a little limiting.

This English-language site will have a more professional focus than its Finnish counterpart. I plan to write about aviation, airports, regional connectivity, sustainable air transport, logistics and the wider role that accessibility plays in supporting regional growth, resilience and international opportunities. Some texts may be analytical, while others will simply be observations arising from my work, discussions and travels.

I also believe there is no such thing as too much meaningful discussion. Lately, I have felt that we here in Finland – up in the North – may need to raise our voices and our profile a little more. We are not always particularly comfortable drawing attention to ourselves, but perhaps it would do us no harm to make ourselves heard every now and then. There is plenty happening here that deserves to be part of the wider international conversation.

The site is still a work in progress. Some of the less visible but essential elements – including privacy and GDPR information, accessibility considerations and a few technical details – are still being completed. For that reason, features such as commenting are not yet available.

Still, I decided not to wait until everything was perfectly finished before beginning. A website, much like writing itself, is rarely ever truly complete. It develops one page, one idea and one article at a time.

So this is the beginning: a new space to bring up my thoughts about aviation, connectivity and where the world around them may be heading.
